"...suckers and losers."

Harrison's debut 2020 album “Halfway From Nashville” marked the latest stop on the Billboard-charting songwriter’s long, twisty, up-and-down road back to music after a long time gone.

In his early twenties he played full-time in Texas and shared the stage with some legendary songwriters and players. There was a promising path for a music career ahead of him. “But I got lost and distracted for a while,” he says, without remorse. “Typical for a young musician.” He worked many years in newspapers and other writing roles, playing music time-to-time in a variety of minor acts and writing songs that few people heard. It was only a few years ago, with a new view on life and a long pent-up creative impulse, that he recommitted to his singer/songwriter roots. “I don’t play the guitar with the confidence of youth I once had. My voice has some miles on it. But I realized there are songs that need to be written and I don’t have time to waste.”

"His songwriting is fresh, charming and even hopeful… once I leaned in and opened myself to its charms, I was hooked. Damn, debut albums aren’t often this compelling.”

Donald Teplyske, Fervor Coulee
